Envirocal provides quality assurance services for a wide range of environmental and technical documents. Most work is conducted via email, ftp, or VPN. If required, on-site services can be arranged for clients located within the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Technical Editing
Recognizing that readability and technical and grammatical consistency are of the utmost importance—particularly with regard to client deliverables and proposals—Envirocal focuses on technical editing as its primary quality assurance service.
Elements of technical editing include:
- Checking and correcting grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Editing for continuity, voice, and clarity of expression; removing awkward verbiage
- Ensuring consistency and correct usage of numbers, acronyms, proper nouns, references, citations, and heading levels
- Resolving document problems such as contradictory text within and between paragraphs and chapters
- Organizing and incorporating data
Style Guides
Style manuals are customized to each client's individual needs and preferences. Guides produced by Envirocal typically include chapters on overall company style, grammar and vocabulary, punctuation, usage of numbers, and acronyms and abbreviations; they also contain illustrative document samples.
Word Processing
Word processing services consist of both basic and high-end applications, including complex formatting (e.g., tables, templates, styles, graphics, pagination, and tracking changes) and structuring and troubleshooting documents. Word processing training is also available.
Templates
Microsoft Word document templates are developed to each client’s unique specifications—with styles for text, heading levels, tables, figures, references, appendices, table of contents, cover pages, and many other document components.
Miscellaneous
Other services offered by Envirocal include environmental-related research and on-site document production.
